We stayed two nights, because of it's close proximity to the airport. The hotel is older, but It was perfect for what we wanted, affordable, and clean, and the hotel staff was very friendly. We were told that all rooms had two double beds, but we could upgrade to a king size upon arrival if any were available. We were able to get the upgrade (at no extra cost), and enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was very large, plenty of room to move around in; the room had a refrigerator and air conditioning, which is a definite plus. The property was quiet - we heard no noises during the night even though there are many units.

Greetings to travelers: Initially I booked the seaside because of the travel website. When we first arrived, I thought perhaps I made a mistake in my assessment of the seaside. But, once settled in, this location and hotel proved to be an excellent value. it is small, and a little old, but the staff has done a really excellent job of keeping the character of this hotel in a perfect time warp. it's clean, the grounds beautifully maintained, and the staff is friendly. location on the harbor is perfect to view the daily paddlers. next door at the park, they are building an authentic hale, a traditional form of hawaiian housing. location to other beaches are very good because of the central location. whole foods walking distance up the street, and costco just a mile away. not a big hi-rise, just a simple clean friendly hotel, with a pool and beach right out front, with great swimming. the restaurant next door is quaint, well decorated and serves good food. try the banana muffin, you will not be disappointed. if you are looking for an over mananged hi rise, this is not the place for you, but if you want to truly get into the groove of old hawaii, you will not be disappointed. very local.

I had a great stay at the Maui Seaside Hotel. The room was nice. Very clean. The staff took care of my needs. Pool was nice. Very quiet and relaxing. They took security seriously, which was nice. The only thing I didn't like was when I asked for an ice bucket, they gave me a large Styrofoam cup. But one trip to Wal-mart and I took care of that for $*. So overall, I would give it a thumbs up. If you're looking for big and fancy, then this isn't the place for you. But if you want a nice place for home base while you roam the island, I would definitely recommend it. Great value for the money.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Maui Seaside Hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room with a view of the ocean where we watched the cruise ships come in and leave, accompanied by the long boats. The beds were very comfortable and we slept better than any other place we've been! The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed visiting with S at the front desk.

Be aware of $* per day parking fee and charge for internet! Really tight parking spots, but at least they have security. This hotel is an old style (50's) resort with very basic amenities - it's a room with a bed, tv, mini fridge and tub/shower, which was all we needed for our stay since we chose to spend more money scuba diving and on activities. We booked it as part of our package, and it was a good value for the money. Don't book this hotel if you want anything romantic, overly cushy, modern or with a super comfy bed - it's all just old. It is clean, though, and the hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. They upgraded our room upon request for no charge. The towels are tiny and thin! It's right on a little strip of ocean with a beach, so it's nice in that regard, but it's not the pretty Hawaiian beach you'd expect. But don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room - you're supposed to be out experiencing Hawaii! Definitely visit Haleakala and the road to Hana. Check out the coupon and traveler books for coupons, such as 2-4-1 breakfast at Moose McGillicuddy's (Fred's Mexican Restaurant) in Lahaina. The restaurant at the hotel is very good with a nice atmosphere and great service. Be sure to use the coupons stapled to the hotel info sheet. Overall, this hotel is fine for hanging out and enjoying your time in Hawaii, leaving you more money to enjoy the island and it's activities rather than wasting it on sleeping!
